Naturopathic Healing

Our bodies are reflections of our inner state of health. When we are well our skin glows, breathing is gentle, the heart beats soundly, there is clarity of mind, muscles are supple and the skeleton moves with ease. Any illness always affects the whole body. When treated holistically it is not only the physical problems that are looked at but also the emotional issues. Often long held anger, pain, worry and stress eventually exhibit themselves through physical disease. In finding the emotional cause an appropriate course of treatment can be prescribed. The aim is to restore personal control of the body and mind and to find harmony from within the body. So often we look outside for a cure when the answer is within us all the time. It’s a matter of taking personal responsibility and caring for the body.

In giving value back to life emphasis is put on five areas;
  • Diet and nutrition. Each one of us is unique and our bodies need individual diets to firstly restore health and secondly to retain vitality. Detoxification cleanses the digestive system and a specific diet will be recommended. Due to the lack of nutrients in food today and the body’s need for nutrition a list of nutritional supplements will be prescribed.
  • Lifestyle. It is often the way that life is lived on a daily basis that has lead to illness. Making changes is difficult but where these are necessary guidance will be given to progressively ease everyday stresses. These maybe at work, in the home, problems with relationships or unhappiness within the environment.
  • Exercise. To be healthy the body needs exercise not only to flex muscles and strengthen bones but also to breathe easily and take in oxygen. A gentle building programme will be designed to increase the tone of the body. Exercise that is enjoyable and fits into a daily routine is suggested.
  • Relaxation. Each day it is essential to break away from the rigours of work to rest the mind and physical body. Simple techniques that can be carried out in a quiet spot will enable peace to enter and calm the body.
  • Hydrotherapy. Water has been used for centuries to ease aches and pains. The addition of essential oils and herbs help to feed the body and rest the mind.
